MUMBAI: Power Grid Corporation on Saturday said that its capital expenditure for this fiscal is at over Rs 12,000-crore and the downturn in global economies had not affected its operations.
"Our capex for FY 10 is over Rs 12,000-crore. Last year, it was Rs 8,095-crore," Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) Chairman and Managing Director, S K Chaturvedi, told reporters here.
There has been no impact of the slow down as far as the transmission is concerned, Chaturvedi said, adding that, "PGCIL has sustained its operations and realised its target."
The Corporation plans to add 37,800 MW of inter regional transmission capacity in the 11th five Year Plan (2007-12), Chaturvedi said.
"We have already installed 20,800 mw of capacity," he added. The power transmission utility intends to spend Rs 55,000-crore to meet the capacity addition of 11th five year plan.
PGCIL has already tied up for loans from agencies such as World Bank and Asian Development Bank.
